(Hang fire, it might take a moment to load)
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been entrepreneurial.
As a small girl, I’d be up at the crack of dawn to set up a shop so my mum could come and ‘buy’ something when she woke up.
Then, as tweens, my sister and I ran a secretarial ‘business’ and used our round bristle hairbrushes as telephones.
Prickled ears aside, I didn’t enjoy it. Being three years older, Julie always had to be in charge and made me do stuff that I thought was stupid.
From that moment on, I decided being my own boss was the way to go.
My first solo enterprise was baking and selling gingerbread men at the local car boot sales. Granted, there wasn’t much profit in it, but my gawd it felt good to be able to make money before I was old enough to get a job.
As an older teen, I’d jump on the train and head off to the London warehouses to buy jewellery which I sold for a profit in my far less fashionable home town of Weymouth.
Seems it was written in the stars that I would go on to run ‘proper’ businesses.
The first was at the tender age of 23 – a thriving home-based holistic therapy practice – that was fully-booked for over a decade.
Later, with four kids in tow, I loved the flexibility of being my own boss, first in my podcast business and now in this one.
I flourish on being the only decision-maker. It’s satisfying setting my own work schedule. I get a kick out of not having to play by anyone else’s rules.
But as much as I thrive on working by myself and for myself, I need other people.
I think we all do.
I get a buzz out of real life conversations with like-minded business owners, because I don’t know about you, but outside of solopreneur-land, people look at me quizzically when I start talking shop.
And yes, that fully includes my husband whose eyes glaze over if I go too deep on my latest business brain-wave. Either that or he comes up with a ‘better’ idea that just makes me roll my eyes.
But it also goes for family and a lot of my friends.
Which is sad because it’s my favourite subject. I eat, sleep and drink solo biz stuff but I have to reluctantly accept that our conversations rarely go beyond a polite, “How’s your business doing?”
BUT …..
….. when I’m with a group of women who are starting, building or growing their one-woman businesses, I feel alive.
I love the useful knowledge, the unexpected connections and the shared wisdom that comes as a result of real world conversations. I just love throwing ideas around and talking shop.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of self-paced learning. But nothing beats talking to real-life flesh and blood woman.
But those women are frustratingly hard to find, especially when they’re sprinkled all over the UK.
So call me selfish, but I decided to create the thing that I most craved …. being in the room with like-minded one-woman business owners.
And so the Solo-Biz Club was born.
I’ve gathered together other mid-life, solo business owners just like me. The ones who hate the six-figure pressure and just want to quietly run their business in their own sweet way.
It doesn’t mean we’re not aspirational or successful. It just means that balance is important to us too.
We all want a thriving business, but they have other stuff on our plates, so this isn’t the six-figure at all costs brigade.
The women in The Club are great.
Most of them are mothers of little kids, medium sized kids, teenage kids or adult kids – so we all know what it’s like to keep all the plates spinning at once.
Some have finished up in their careers, some work full or part time, others are at home with their kids. But – fast or slow – all of them are dedicated to making a go of their respective businesses whatever stage they happen to be at.
Most of them are selling their knowledge or expertise as a service so are serving one-to-one clients, developing group coaching, or creating courses or programmes.
One thing I’ve noticed about the women in my world is that whilst they’re experts in their respective fields, they’re a bit wobbly about turning that knowledge into a sustainable, manageable and – most importantly – enjoyable solo business.
Some have worked in entirely different fields for the whole of their careers, and the world of running a business single-handedly is completely new to them.
This is where I come in. The multiple different Zoom sessions in the Solo-Biz Club each week help them with different aspects of their businesses.
Say it myself I shouldn’t, hosting group calls it my superpower – it fills me up and gives me a ping-on, and I do confess to getting quite overexcited.
There isn’t a library of previous calls to bog you down and make you feel guilty that you’re not ‘keeping up’.
Yes, I record some of the calls if appropriate, but I only send these to the CURRENT members, and privately by email.
If you want specific, guided, step-by-step learning, I have other courses and programmes for that.
You can ask whatever you want, whenever you want, but this isn’t a dedicated training program.
Although there’s a lot of learning going on, this is a good moment to say, that the things I teach in the Solo-Biz Club are ad hoc.
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve bought any of my other offerings or not though.
The Solo-Biz Club is a place to connect, take action and create a one-woman business on your own terms. It’s designed to support your leaning and make you feel less alone in your work.
In my business, I’ve built an email list full of high-calibre women who are experts in their respective fields, but a bit wobbly about turning that knowledge into a sustainable, manageable and – most importantly – enjoyable solo business.
The Solo-Biz Club is a small slither of my wider email community which takes our connection a step further.
We’re a close-knit group of women, who meet each week on a Tuesday with the shared goal of building a simple yet profitable and sustainable solo business.
These club members are my ‘Super Customers’ because they’re serious about making a go of their respective enterprises.
They’ve watched Sales from Scratch™, resonate with my methodology, and understand the power of using email to make sales.
But they’re ordinary women just like you and me.
They have kids, jobs, commitments …. but are carving out time to create a solo business amongst all the other plates they’re spinning.
Between the weekly calls, they’re slowly and steadily working through my courses and programmes.
This means they can be laser-focused on the highest value tasks to move their respective businesses forward.
Although, just to be totally clear – buying my products isn’t mandatory – and it’s not a pre-requisite of joining the Solo-Biz Club.
What matters is that you’re an action-taker and – fast or slow – you’re serious about building your solo business.
By rubbing shoulders with other one-woman business owners, you start absorbing the energy of women who get it.
The wins, the momentum and the excitement as well as the loneliness, the struggles and the frustrations.
These women are genuinely trying to build something, rather than just talk, hope or daydream about it.
The Solo-Biz Club is a personal, welcoming space where every member is seen, heard and valued.
And I can’t emphasise this enough ….
Being surrounded by like-minded people is the difference between being sat behind your laptop by your little old self, and feeling energised, motivated and part of something bigger than yourself.
We’re a lovely friendly bunch, and would love for you to join us.
How does it work?
The Solo-Biz Club is an affordable, accessible and low-barrier way to connect with me and other one-woman business owners.
We meet every Tuesday 1-2pm to talk shop via Zoom, and each week has a different focus.
If you’ve ever joined one of my group calls before, you’ll know how action-packed they are.
They’re universally loved, and everyone walks away fully enthused and buzzing with fresh ideas.
If you’ve ever joined one – or indeed worked with me in any capacity – you’ll already know that I always over-deliver.
This is no different.
Unlike some of the big fancy-pants communities and programmes where you don’t see the host for dust, I’m there in the room with you.
Walking the walk and working on my business right alongside you.
You’ll see behind the scenes of my emails where I openly share what I’m working on in my own business.
I keep it purposely small so you get my focused time and attention. You’re not going to feel like you’re a cast of thousands gathering dust at the back of my webinar.
Nope.
It’s cameras on and mic’s unmuted so we can get down and dirty.
I’d love you to join us, and you can sign up right now. No waiting for the beginning of the month, or a launch window. RIGHT NOW!!
As soon as you do, you’ll immediately be part of the WhatsApp group and our next Zoom get together will only ever a few days away.

Conversation flows thick and fast in the Solo-Biz Club with deep and specific discussions about how to build and grow a solo business.
Because the members have been doing the work and applying the strategies, they come armed with a bunch of detailed questions, thoughtful insights or useful revelations to share with the group.
Oh yes. We really get into the weeds.
But you know me.
I’m very down-to-earth with how I break down complex problems into something bite-sized and do-able.

I love that one person’s question might be something the others haven’t considered, so everyone benefits as we bounce ideas off of each other.
And that very much includes me.
Honestly, it’s the most beneficial 60 minutes you’ll spend each week.

And because I’m always honest and free-flowing about my own strategies, successes and struggles you’ll get a candid, behind the scenes look at exactly what I’m doing.
It’s open to everyone, and you’re very welcome to be part of it.
I won’t gouge you for hundreds, sometimes thousands of pounds a month to be a member.
And I’m always ready to reveal my secrets.
But only to the people who are in my orbit.
So what’s the damage?
For the massive value you get (as anyone who has ever attended one of my group calls will know), it’s an absolute steal at £39 a month.
For this you’ll get 60 minute call each Tuesday with a different theme each week
You’ll also have my phone number because you’ll be part of our vibrant WhatsApp group.
Don’t worry, it’s not constantly ping, ping, pinging, because the group is set to admin-only every day with the exception of Tuesday.
But then on Tuesday – Solo-Biz Club day – our community lights up and comes together from 8am to 8pm.
To top it all off, I also host two or three Work O’Clock co-working sessions each week as a bonus where you can come along and do some quiet work on your business.
I keep the price really low because you’re committing to an ongoing subscription.
As well as making you accountable to show up and do the work, it’s also much more cost effective than paying for my time as you go.
For example, an hour of my dedicated 1-2-1 attention sells for £499 ….
I know committing to a monthly subscription feels like a big deal, but the value and inspiration you’ll get from being part of a community of other solo business women is off the scale.
Being on my radar week in, week out means you get maximum value from my one-woman business wisdom.
And you know what? If you hate it, you can just bow out any time you want, no questions asked.
I promise not to be offended.
So why not make the tiny investment of one months membership so you can suck it and see. It beats speculating and forever wondering whether or not it’s for you.
It’s the only way you’re going to find out.
If after the first month you feels it’s for you, you can to commit to showing up and being part of the club.
As soon as you join you’ll get access to our private WhatsApp group.
From there I’ll remind you of the call times and post the Zoom link.
You can come in, meet the other women and start to make connections.
We’re there for each other to share wins, ask opinions and set up an accountability partnership if you choose to.
You can promote your business, potentially become each other’s customers, but definitely become each others advocates.
I want our group to get to know each other deeply, and journey together which is why joining the Solo-Biz Club is only available on a monthly subscription.
You’ll have a group of other like-minded women by your side.
A committee of inspiration.
A support network to share your struggles, and high-five your accomplishments.
You’ll have other women in the same boat to bounce ideas off.
So whether you’re in the early stages of building your business, stuck wondering what to do next, or have been at it for many-a-year, I promise you’ll love it.
Meet the Members
These are the lovely ladies you’ll be rubbing shoulders with when you join our club. See, I told you they were normal.
When you join, you’ll get a spot on the carousel too.
Free advertising anyone?
Saying that, if you prefer to stay anonymous, that’s fine too (although I will give you a good talking too that bravely ‘putting yourself out there’ is an essential part of being a business owner).
When you click on the image you can see what your fab new pod friends are up to, and follow them as their businesses evolve.
